ENGLISH

hello guys. back again with Louis. and yes this is me today i thought i would make this post in English because this post is about what i studied in the first semester of my English subject. without further ado here it is.

Chapter 1

Expressions of asking and giving hope
Hope is to want something to happen or to be true, and usually have a good reason to think that it might. Ex: Hopefully…, I hope…, I expect…, I am hoping…, etc

Expressions of congratulation
Congratulation is something that you say when you want to congratulate someone. Ex: I’d be the first to congratulate you on…, I’d like to congratulate you on…, Please accept my warmest congratulations, etc
Expressions of agreement
Agreement is when people have the same opinion, or when they approve of or accept something. Ex: I agree with you, You’re right, That’s true, Absolutely, etc
Expressions of suggestion
Suggestion is an idea, plan or action that is suggested or the act of suggesting it. Ex: May I suggest…? You may/might like to…? Have you considered/thought of…? Would you care to…?

Chapter 2

Label is a small piece of paper or other material which gives information about the thing it is fixed to. Label is a piece of paper, polymer, cloth, metal, or other material affixed to a container or article, on which is print a legend
Grammar review:

Plural and singular
Plural is a word or a part of word which shows that you are talking about more than one person or thing. For example “babies” is the plural of “baby”. While, the singular is a form of a word used to talk about one person or thing. For example “man” is the singular form of “men”
Conjuction “to, in order to, and so that”
–  To + Verb-

EX:

I’m going to Batam to visit my brother

I went to the school to study

–  In order to + Infinitive

Purpose can be expressed with the prepositional phrase in order allowed by an infinitive clause or a that-clause ( almost always with a modal may or might ). The prepositional phrase in orde is often omitted in informal speech

–  So + that – clause

Purpose can be expressed with the preposition so followed by a that-clause ( almost always with a modal can, will or may). Informally, that is omitted ( Do not place acomma before so because it changes the meaning to “result” )

Chapter 3

Recipe is a set of instructions that describes how to prepare or make something, especially a culinary dish, including a list of what food is neede for this. It is also used in medicine or in information technology ( user acceptance ). A doctor will usually begin a prescription with recipe, usually abbreviated Rx or an equivalent symbol

Manual is a book that tells you how to use something or do something. In this case is some tools. The manual contains important information about the tools we want to use

Sentence used in manual
Sentence used in imperative sentence is imperative sentence. It is form of a verb used to express an order
The expressions to ask about how the tools are used
We are certain confused when we just buy electronic tools or something. We can ask the seller or someone else how to operate it
Tools used in manual
Manual usually explains about how to operate something. It could be power tools, mechanic tools, automotive tools, office tools, etc
Present continuous tense is the tense which we use to refer to actions or events that are happening now or developing. Past contiuous is the grammatical tense used to describe an action which someone was doing or an event which was happening at a particular time. We will be doing future continuous to say that we will be int the middle of doing something at a certain time in the future.
